 Today’s Song of the Day is “Dream a Little Dream of Me” by Dean Martin. I chose it because I just had my second child a few days ago and this will be his lullaby. When my daughter was born, 5 years ago, I sang “Close to You” by The Carpenters to her. I started to think about what I wanted sing to him a few months ago and landed on this classic.

“Dream a Little Dream of Me” was originally recorded in 1931 and since then over 60 other versions have been recorded, with the most popular from The Mamas & the Papas. I wanted to spotlight the Dean Martin recording because his voice is like velvet and the orchestration of the song is very pretty. So, in short, I would like to dedicate this song of the day to the newest member of my family, Cassius, I hope you like your lullaby.
