In part three, we destroy a Christmas classic as we expose Dean Martin as the dirty old man he has always been so proud of being.

Hey pallies, likes today's Dino-gram qualifies as a Dino-wintry post 'cause it accents our Dino's croonin' of what may be his most amorin' wintry croon "Baby It's Cold Outside."   From the podcast blog  "I Probably Shouldn't Say This, BUT," comes "veteran comedy team of John Bateman and Matt Steffich" randiest of randy ruminations on "Baby."

Likes in the words of Bateman and Steffich we're invited to "get loose and listen in on the unrehearsed, unbridled and often unfortunate verbal articulations that probably shouldn't be said...."
In part tres of show numero eleven the boys let loose on our darin' Dino beginnin' at 'bout 38:00.  In their own words John and Matt sez, "we destroy a Christmas classic as we expose Dean Martin as the dirty old man he has always been so proud of being."

The guys begin their antics with Steffich tellin' a Dino-tale of how at 3 a.m. on December 25, 1995 (the day of our Dino's departure from our earth) he and his bro and his bro's pallie, who had had a lot of liquid libations tried to find our Dino's telephone number to call him, to no avail.....and then discovered later in the day that our Dino had died.  Matt even tells us that one of 'em z(either his bro or his bro's pallie) loved our Dino so much that they tagged their boypallie Dean!  They follow this with crazy cool commentary on the lush lyrics of "Baby It's Cold Outside"....playin' sorta a play by play of the action..... a bit of the croon followed by their randy reflections.  Likes you gotta listen to this dudes to get the full flavor of their comedic commentary.

We ain't  able to copy the podcast, put likes it you clicks on the tag of this Dino-message and begin at 38 minutes you'll join in on the fun.  We sez our thanks to Mr. John Bateman and Mr. Matt Steffich for their Dino-creativity.  We're hopin' that these guys will find more ops to accent our Dino with their comedic talents.  Dino-always, DMP

Yes, it is possible to chart the entire 20th-century history of American pop culture, and a good deal of non-pop culture history, through an examination of the life of entertainer Dean Martin.

My Photo
Hey pallies, likes we gotta 'fess up that often we wonders how we can top a Dino-gram likes yesterday's potently powerful post on "Mad Matt" mixin' classic Dino-moments from "The Silencers" with  parts of the recent soundtrack from "Mad Max: Fury Road."  Well, likes we thinks we have found 'nother cooler then cool post that is goin' to gets you psyched up for our most beloved Dino just likes yester-Dino-day.

From the most interestin'ly imbibin' blog  "The Potable Curmudgeon - The simple pleasures of beering locally," come a dude who tags himself "The New Albanian" ('cause he's from New Albany, Indiana) Dino-gram, "Dean Martin and Foster Brooks, 45 years ago."  "The New Albanian" profile tells us that his industry is "education" and his occupation is "Publican & polemicist."  He is well qualified to speak on the subject of imbibin' 'cause he is the "owner of a microbrewery and specialty beer bar/pizzeria in the Louisville metro area."

Likes we knows this dude has good taste not only in his drinkin' preferences, but also in his selection of a Dino vid clip.  This guy who we believe is named Roger (referenced in the post) shares that most classic of classic moment from the Dino-show where our great man and Mr. Foster Brooks (as the drunk airline pilot) trade quintessential quips when sittin' at a bar together.

As mucho as we digs this vid dudes, what really is gettin' us all psyched up is that Roger makes this profoundly provocative point pontificatin':  "Yes, it is possible to chart the entire 20th-century history of American pop culture, and a good deal of non-pop culture history, through an examination of the life of entertainer Dean Martin."

Likes to prove his point he shares a quotation from some powerful prose scribed in 1992 by Miss Karen Schoemer for the New York Times.  That awesome article is tagged "ON THE POP CULTURE TRAIL WITH; Being Boswell to Dean Martin" and features wondrous wise words from Dino-biographer Mr. Nick Tosches, who bestest of best bio was first published in '92.  It's some of the most swankly sensational scribin's that we have ever read....and somethin' that we had never run 'cross before in all our Dino-searchin'!

This is primo prose dudes and all youse Dino-holics can read it for yourself by click on the link that Roger offers.   We certainly plans to return to this magnificant material sometime soon and drink deeply on Tosches reverently remarkable reflections!  We wanna sez our thanks to Roger, "The New Albanian" for puttin' us on to this deepest of deep devotion to our Dino, and we salute him for his New Year's Resolution..... "2016 is the year for me to re-read Dino: Living High in the Dirty Business of Dreams, a biography of Dean Martin, written by Nick Tosches." We are goin' to resolve that as Dino-well!  To checks this out in it's original format, simply clicks on the tag of this here Dino-mesage.  Absolutely Awed by our Dino, DMP

Dean Martin and Foster Brooks, 45 years ago.

It's Dean Martin, Ken Lane and Foster Brooks in "The Bar/Airline Pilot" (circa 1969). The sheer political incorrectness of this skit is fascinating. Smoking, drinking and howling at the idea of intoxicated airline pilots? These days, it would be grounds for a boycott and Facebook meme.

Why would Roger even go there? There are five reasons.

It's funny.

Foster Brooks was a Louisvillian (Cactus Tom's brother, in fact).

Brooks wasn't a drinker in real life, and he played one dead sober.

I thought about Brooks over the holidays while seated near an actual drunkard at a local bar.

2016 is the year for me to re-read Dino: Living High in the Dirty Business of Dreams, a biography of Dean Martin, written by Nick Tosches.

Yes, it is possible to chart the entire 20th-century history of American pop culture, and a good deal of non-pop culture history, through an examination of the life of entertainer Dean Martin.

ON THE POP CULTURE TRAIL WITH; Being Boswell to Dean Martin, by Karen Schoemer (New York Times)

... "I would describe Dean as a noble character in an ignoble racket in an ignoble age," (Tosches) said. "He made out his role in American culture, and American culture itself, as basically a racket. In his own way he seemed to be a man who lived by a code. Whether or not that code was light or dark, he seemed to live by it. He seemed to possess a certain honesty that's very rare. And he managed to keep the world at bay, and not interfere with the business of his being, whatever that was."

Dean Martin was one of the coolest mofos to ever don a tux and drink scotch.

Hey pallies, likes what's happenin' dudes?  Likes have got one on the coolest, hippest, and randiest
beau-ti-ful bits of Dino-devotion ever!  From the new-to-ilovedinomartin fantastic "EGOTASTIC" blog comes the swingin'est of swingin' post "DEAN MARTIN STARS IN "MAD MATT" by Mr. Michael Gracia.  Likes 'pon readin' just the first sentence of Mr. Garcia's swank scribin' we just knew this dude totally totally "gets Martin":  "Dean Martin was one of the coolest mofos to ever don a tux and drink scotch."

Likes we gotta 'fess up that we proudly prides ourselves in bein' what we would call Dino-purists...wantin' our Dino straight up....not much interested in those who try to improve on what we consider the perfectly perfect way that our perfectly perfect  Dino croons a tune, cracks a joke of sez his lines in a scene from a flick.  BUT, today's Dino-gram proves that sometimes, yes sometimes the way that our Dino makes the scene can be enhanced by today's tremendous technology and some cool cool creativity a la Dino!

What our devoted-to-Dino pallie Michael  shares is a youtube vid clip matchin' up the car chase scene from our Dino's first Matt Helm caper, "The Silencers" where Dino and Stella Stevens are in his drink-mobile station wagon goin' south and gettin' pursued  by the Big O baddies with the soundtrack from "Mad Max: Fury Road."  Likes you gotta watch this dudes 'cause it truly is a beau-ti-ful blast of pure pure Dino-fun!  In the words of our new pallie Michael..."Some films could use a little updating. Especially if it involves post-apocalyptic car chases. And booze. Lots of booze."

Likes we sends out our awesome appreciato to Mr. Michael Garcia and all the pallies at "EGOTASTIC" for bringin' this bright bit of Dino-delight to our Dino-attention.  We also sez our thanks to the folks at "Table Tales" who put it up on youtube.   Enjoys our most beloved Dino as "Mad Matt."  To checks this out in it's original format, simply clicks on the tag of this here Dino-report.  Dino-delightedly, DMP

DEAN MARTIN STARS IN "MAD MATT"

MICHAEL GARCIA  JAN 6, 2016

Dean Martin was one of the coolest mofos to ever don a tux and drink scotch. He was always my favorite member of the Rat Pack. On top of being a great singer and an excellent drinker, he was also a pretty talented comic actor. In the late 60's he made several spy spoof movies playing a character called Matt Helm. At the beginning of the scene he and the girl he's with are openly drinking while driving. That in and of itself makes this worth watching. But then the subsequent car chase was cut to the soundtrack from Mad Max: Fury Road and it all kind of makes sense.

Some films could use a little updating. Especially if it involves post-apocalyptic car chases. And booze. Lots of booze.

.......and bears a striking resemblance to Dean Martin.

Hey pallies, likes we do intend to gets back to more swank sharin' of awesome adulation from the 20th anniversary remembrance of our Dino's departure from our planet, but we kinda  keeps findin' just a ton of fun other Dino-devotion that we can't wait to share with all youse Dino-holics.

Likes our most beloved Dino is turnin' up just 'bout everywhere and we couldn't be more pleased dudes.  Case in point woulda be this recent post from the Prince Edwards Island version of "The Guardian" that tells 'bout a local theatre production on  PEI at North Milton. The play tagged "A Priest From Away" is written and directed by Mr. Ken Williams 'long with Mr. David Hooper, and likes features an Anglican priest who "bears a striking resemblance to Dean Martin."

Now pallies, likes how fantastically fabulous is that dudes?!?!?!?!.....our Dino front and center in a community theatre production acted by a group of lively senior citizens.  This just goes to shows that our one and only Dino is still  it!!!!!!...always has been, always will be!  Likes, over the years we have shared a goodly number of stage productions...both professional and amatuer accentin' our King of Cool....and likes, we can't wait to hear 'bout more in the future!

Likes we have shared the pertinent details below, but likes if you clicks on the tag of this here Dino-gram, you can gets the full prose in total from the original postin;.  We sez our thank youse very much to the folks at PEI ver-si-on of "The Guardian" and to playwrights Mr. Ken Williams and Mr. David Hooper for spreadin' a ton of Dino-devotion through their theatre production...likes just wishes that we coulda gets to a perform to cheer 'em and the entire production on!   Dino-awestruck, DMP

A Priest from away

Published on January 15, 2016

NORTH MILTON - It can sometimes be tough to find your way, especially if you're in P.E.I. and "from away."

At least, that's the case in the play "Some Neighbours: Episode 3 - A Priest From Away" being held in Milton Community Hall this month.

The comedic play follows an Anglican priest who moves to P.E.I. and bears a striking resemblance to Dean Martin.

Ken Williams, who wrote and directed the play with David Hooper, said it largely revolves around meetings with the quirky neighbours intertwined with the priest's predicament.

What follows is a series of humorous mishaps and confusion.

"It could be any community we just happened to use Milton. There's a priest whose asked to come in and the poor soul looks a lot like Dean Martin, so instead of seeing him as the new clergyman they see him as Dean Martin," said Williams. "People remind him that he's from away, he can't find members of his congregation and he can't find the church. He's having a lot of trouble."

One funny storyline involves a recently-widowed Martin fan who takes an interest in the priest.

"She figures her prayers have been answered when this man shows up," said Williams. "So we have all these conflicts within the play, a little bit of music and some comedy."

Montgomery Clift and Dean Martin in the Movie 'The Young Lions' 1958

The Young Lions is a 1958 American CinemaScope war drama film directed by Edward Dmytryk, based upon the 1948 novel of the same name by Irwin Shaw, and starring Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, and Dean Martin.

The film became a box-office success and was the key to Martin's comeback in the wake of his split with partner Jerry Lewis. Tony Randall originally had Martin's role but talent agency MCA insisted that Martin replace Randall so they'd have "a quadruple threat" (an audience from four sectors): night clubs, recordings, television, and movies. Martin ended up getting splendid reviews and launched a very successful solo career as an actor.

This was the only film (aside from home movies) that Brando and Clift made together. However, they don't share any scenes together (aside from Martin and Clift standing over Brando's character who is dead). The picture was produced by Al Lichtman and was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Film and three Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Sound (Carlton W. Faulkner) and Best Music in 1959.

Hey pallies, likes today we makes our third stop in the nation of Spain, where yet 'nother blogger, Mr. Julian Ruiz has created his poignant post, "20 YEARS OF DEATH OF DEAN MARTIN," at his blog tagged PLASTICO Y DECILBEIOS, which translates to "Plastic And Decibels."  Mr. Ruiz bio tells us that he is "a journalist, musical engineer and record producer. Dino ...."gives us a carol with his powerful and haunting voice"

Hey pallies, likes welcome back to our second stop in Spain for more delightful devotion to our most beloved Dino on this 20th anniversary of his departure from our midst on December 25, 1995.  Today we meet with the blog tagged "Lazoz Telurica," which translates to "The Earth Voice," where a dude who tags themself "Roco Allstar" has shared some potent patter  "Dean Martin - A Marshmallow World (1966)."

Likes, faithful fellow Dino-holics here at ilovedinomartin knows that we are particularly partial to this particular Dino-wintery croon, and Roco accents a ver-si-on from the Dino-show with our main man singin' it "accompanied by two beautiful santa claus" babes.  It's our Dino in his terrific tux with ever present Kent smoke in hand.....of course, not takin' the words (or the world) too seriously  We absolutely digs what our  Dino sez at the end of the croon...."Oh, that kid's voice spreads good cheer.
I bet there is tinsel hangin' from his tonsils."

That's our marvelously magic Dino for you, as Roco sez it so so well "The song in this case was not important, because what really matters here is the artist and especially the time of year, and in the case that concerns us too kitsch this video hoot sympathetic villain."   We salutes "Roco Allstar" and all the folks at "The Earth Voice" for this deeply delightful swanky salute to our one and only Dino and their efforts to spread delightful Dino-cheer to all their readership.  To checks this out, per usual, in it's original source, simply clicks on the tag of this Dino-message.   Drinkin' Deeply Of Our Dino, DMP

[Classic Telúrico] Dean Martin - A Marshmallow World (1966)

There are days when listening carols is a must and we should not give it any qualms with the great Dino, Sinatra or other large, that the Christmas compilation sung by children and drilled us enough to go into any supermarket.

The song in this case was not important, because what really matters here is the artist and especially the time of year, and in the case that concerns us too kitsch this video hoot sympathetic villain.

Accompanied by two beautiful santa claus, gives us a carol with his powerful and haunting voice, and also put his hand in the fire that took more than a drink over their movements and smile.

With this only I can only say to all the earthquakes that happen these days of celebrations the best and happiest possible that craps will always be present, and if little lights can draw us a smile even if not win, you better take advantage . Merry Christmas !!!.

[Clásico Telúrico] Dean Martin - A Marshmallow World (1966)

Merry Christmas!!!.

Twenty years without the 'holiday' Dino voice

Astrid Meseguer | Astrid Meseguer Lores
Hey pallies, likes from the Republic of Kosovo we lands in Spain this very Dino-day, where we share the first of 3---count 'em---3 Dino-grams from three different Spanish blogs.  Up first is a most marvelous homagin' of our Dino from the blog "La Vanguardia," which translates "The Vanguard."  Scribed by Miss Astrid Meseguer, editor of "La Vanguardia" since 1997, she hails from Barcelona where she earned her " Degree in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Master in Film Criticism by the Observatorio de Cine."

Miss Meseguer's superbly scribed, poignant prose is tagged "Twenty years without the 'holiday' Dino voice."  Likes, of course, we totally loves the al-b-um image that Astrid chose to highlight her touchin' and tender thoughts.... the dreamy dreamy "Dream With Dean" pose  with our most beloved Dino, ever present Kent cigarette in hand, sittin' by the fireplace warmin' himself...and ponderin' only who knows what.

A note: the translation of the words 'cross the pix is "5 unforgettable christmas DINO."  Our fav teachable thoughts from Miss Meseguer includes this remarkable reflection on our Dino's persona..." Dean Martin was a man of great charisma, a gallant rogue, stylish, womanizing, party animal and a seducer of overwhelming personality that you will know not enemies."  We believes she is Dino-spot on with her thoughts.

We were not able to copy the vid clip of our Dino's croonin' of "Let It Snow," but we were able to share the link so that you can enjoy this bestest of best Dino-wintery croon.  We sez our thanks to Miss Astrid Meseguer for this huge homagin' of our Dino and helpin' many folks in Spain to gets more and more turned on to our King of Cool.  To checks this out in it's original format, simply clicks on the tag of this here Dino-gram.   Dino-diggin', DMP

Twenty years without the 'holiday' Dino voice Compilation of songs stop these fehcas essential to remember the 20th anniversary of his death (Writing - LV)

ASTRID MESEGUER , Barcelona 12/24/2015 23:00 | Updated 12/25/2015 14:35

Dean Martin was one of the great American artists of all time. This is reflected in its three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his career in film, television and music. He recorded more than one hundred albums and scored hit songs that today still remain, especially his interpretations of Christmas classics.

DINO SINGIN" "LET IT SNOW"

Dino Paul Crocetti (his real name) was born on June 7, 1917 in Steubenville (Ohio) in a family of Italian immigrants, which explains his respect for the Italian musical tradition and the tendency to highlight a profile of 'latin lover 'who came to caricature in his film performances. He managed to amass a significant fortune throughout his life, thanks to its connection to Las Vegas, the unique duo formed for ten years with Jerry Lewis, whom he shot to stardom after making various comedy routines US, and its friend Frank Sinatra. Just next to 'Voice' and Sammy Davis junior form the core of the Rat Pack, one of the most popular artistic groups from the city of casinos.

He soon left school after discovering that theirs were no pencils or books, but the cards and dice. During his teenage years he held various jobs and made some forays into the world of boxing with the pseudonym of 'Kid Crocetti', but in the circuit of the nightclubs where he eventually achieved professional success as a singer and comedian.

Martin kishte 40 top 10 këngë në mes të viteve 1950 dhe 1969, tre prej të cilave –That’s Amore, Memories are Made of This dhe Everybody Loves Somebody – u shitën me miliona kopje.

Gjithashtu Martin, ishte shumë i mirë edhe në aktrim, ai madje ishte niminuar për Oscar në filmin e vitit 1959, Who Was That Lady?

Kënga e tij Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, është këngë klasike për borën.

Dean Martin (1917-1995)

Today is twenty years ago that the US "crooner" Dean Martin is deceased.

'Crooner' is a word that is hardly used. The English word 'croon' actually means 'hum'. A 'crooner' is a man who sings in a relaxed, intimate position with a soft, low voice (usually) love songs. More enlightening than the definition are the examples: Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Pat Boone, Tony Bennett, Andy Williams ... Frank Sinatra is known as a so-called hard-crooner. His buddy Dean Martin remained an example of a softcrooner "I just copieer Bing Crosby one hundred percent," he says.

Dino Crocetti alias Dean Martin (° Steubenville, Ohio, 06/07/1917) descended from an Italian-American family. His Italian roots still hear his hits That's amore, Return to me or Volare. He left school at age 16 and moved in 1937 to California. He had several jobs (boxer, metal worker card magician, gas station worker), before he changed his name and had success as a singer in the night clubs of New York. In 1946 he began his collaboration with the comedian Jerry Lewis. They jointly developed a successful comedy routine and were among the top of Hollywood. They played skits on TV, had his own radio show and joined in 1949 also working in films, 16 in total. Their partnership ended in discord in 1956. To everyone's surprise Dean Martin then had a successful solo career. In the 60s he was a member of the Rat Pack, the infamous club of friends with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis jr. And Peter Lawford, with whom he made popular movies. Close friends were John Wayne and Gary Cooper.

Dean Martin is not well known among the younger generations, but for the older he stands in the landscape of popular music as a protected monument. He became immortal through his hits-evergreens from the 50s: Kiss, Memories are made of this, Sway ... In 1964 he made an impressive comeback with Everybody loves somebody, The door is still open to my heart, Send Me the Pillow That you dream on others - all sung in his own distinctive and effortless, warm Italo-American style.

He played secret agent Matt Helm in four films, but when his vocal talent was already in perspective (cfr. The statement about Bing Crosby), than he does about his acting talent very modest. Then he presented a weekly basis between 1965 and 1984 his own show on NBC, one of the most successful programs in American television history. His declining health and popularity meant that he only did theater work from the 70s. After his son in 1987 in a plane crash to had died and he became the next year was unwell during a tour, he put an end to his career.

Dean Martin, who starred in 51 films, has three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, for his record recordings, films and TV work. According to the "legend" he was a big drinker, but his biographers (and his family) speak emphatically against it. He was married three times and has eight children, who adopted one.

Since 1993 he suffered from terminal cancer (not coincidentally lung and kidney). When the surgeons suggested to cut away the affected organs, he pointed out to the generous offer to return home "to have a beer." He has two more years to enjoy it, because he's only on Christmas Day 1995 deceased at the age of 78. On his tombstone is' Everybody loves somebody sometime. "

Dean Martin (1917-1995)

That’s amore, Return to me of Volare. Hun samenwerking eindigde in onenigheid in 1956.
In 1964 maakte hij een indrukwekkende comeback met Everybody loves somebody, The door is still open to my heart, Send me the pillow that you dream on e.a.

When Elvis Presley was introduced to the daughter of Dean Martin, Diana, bent down and whispered in her ear: "They call me the King of Rock 'n' Roll, but your dad is the King of Cool».

King of Cool, died on Christmas Day 20 years ago, having a successful career. He had 40 top 10 singles between 1950 and 1969, three of them was the Amore (1953), Memories are Made of This (1955) and Everybody Loves Somebody (1964), selling millions.

Before gained fame and money, the Dean Martin spent much. His real name was Dino Paul Kroseti and was the son of an immigrant barber in Ohio. In adolescence was a reluctant perfomer, prefer to play boxing, and when he quit working as a croupier in an illegal casino. For a time he worked in a steel mill, and then the urging of friends, he began singing at weekends in small clubs.

At 21 she was spotted in a bar by a band leader Sami Gouatkins, who was impressed by the rich repertoire. At the time, Dean Martin Dean Martin called inspiration from pop star of opera Nino Martini. The Gouatkins was the one who named him Dean Martin, giving birth to a legend of showbusiness.

Martin smoothly imitate baritone voice and the words of Bing Crosby from which it took and the way they sang the lyrics. This relaxed tradition made the songs by Martin, such as Volare and Return to Me so charming.

Είχε 40 top 10 singles μεταξύ του 1950 και του 1969, τρία από αυτά ήταν το Amore (1953), Memories are Made of This (1955) και το Everybody Loves Somebody (1964), πουλώντας εκατομμύρια.

Ο Μάρτιν είχε από τις θερμότερες φωνές της μουσικής που τραγουδούσε, κάτι που είναι εμφανές σε τραγούδια, όπως το Memories Are Made of This.
