Dean Martin-Standing On A Corner

This multifaceted man, who worked with Jerry Lewis on several films, is back. He's already been in "Everybody Loves Somebody" and "Memories Are Made Of This," and now he brings us "Standing On A Corner." Let's look at his life: born in Steubenville, Ohio, USA, he was the son of Italian immigrants—his father a barber and his mother a housewife. He didn't like to study, so he made a living in the working world: laborer, gas station attendant, robber, and boxer (quite good at it). He started performing as a singer with the Ernie McKay Orchestra, which at that time was called "Dino Martini." That's how he met Jerry Lewis, who was just starting out. They became very good friends and performed at the "Alantic City" club as a comedy duo. From there, in 1949, they moved into film with "My Friend Irma," and many more followed that I won't list. "Crazy About Anita" was their last collaboration, after which they went their separate ways. Jerry With his successful comedy career and demonstrating his versatility as an actor and musician, he first married Betty MacDonald and then Jane Biegger. From the 1950s onwards, he joined Frank Sinatra's "Rat Pack," working on films such as "The Young Lions," "Rio Bravo," etc. In 1973, he married Catherine Hawn, but they separated three years later. He died on Christmas Day, December 25, 1995, from respiratory problems.

Lyrics to "Standing On A Corner": He likes to watch the girls go by, be happy. Standing

on the corner watching the girls go by . Standing
on the corner watching the girls go by.
Brother, don't you have anything more important to do?
In fact, neither
do I. Standing on the corner watching the girls.
Watching the girls, watching the girls go by.

I'm the cat that has the cream.
I ain't got no girl, but I can dream.
I ain't got no girl, but I can wish.
So I'll go down to the high street,
and that's where I'll pick my imaginary dish.

Standing on the corner watching the girls go by.
Standing on the corner watching the girls.
Brother, if you've got a lot of imagination,
try it.
Try standing on a corner and watching the girls go by
. Watching the girls, watching the girls go by.

Brother, you can't go to jail for what you think,
or for that flirtatious look in your eyes.
Standing on a corner watching the girls.
Watching the girls, watching the girls go by.
