I pressed the button just as Frank is goosing Dean in the ass.

Tim Jonze
Hey pallies, likes ilovedinomartin is immensely indebted to the pallies over at google 'lerts who faithfullly send to our inbox on a regular basis Dino-'lerts.  Likes we gotta 'fess up that many of 'em are not directly Dino-related and we pass 'em by, but quite frequently, likes in today's Dino-devotion, these Dino-'lerts are right on the ol' Dino-mark and we thrill to pass 'em on to Dino-holics here, there, and every Dino-where!

Recently the google 'lert pallies sent us to the noteworthy newsy pad of "The Guardian" where journalist Mr. Tim Jonze (picture on the right) interviewed phenonimal photographer Mr. Neal Preston in the powerful post, "Neal Preston's best photograph: Robert Plant catches a dove."  As the tag of the post sez, Mr. Preston speaks of the who, when, where, and how he captured Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant with dove in  hand.

Likes as Mr. Preston was speakin' 'bout 'nother example of "being in the right place at the right time with the right lens" in snappin' the perfect pose of Plant, he shared 'nother coolest of cool extraordinary example in his cool cool candid of, as he sez, "Frank is goosing Dean in the ass."  The Frank is likes, of course, Mr. Frank Sinatra, and the Dean is none other then our most most most beloved Dino.  As noted below, the incredible image was shot on the year of our Dino 1988 in Oakland Cali when our Dino, Mr. Sinatra, and Mr. Sammy Davis, Jr. were tourin' together in the "Together Again Tour.    As youse will note,  enormously evocative and powerfully provocative pose is splendidly shared below.

ilovedinomartin says thanks to our pallies at google 'lerts, to interviewer Mr. Tim, Jonze and the folks at "The Guardian," and most importantly to Mr. Robert Plant for snappin' this incredibly iconic image for all of Dino-posterity!  To checks this out in it's original source and to read the post in total, simply clicks on the tag of this Dino-gram.

Yours in Dino,

This was a case of being in the right place at the right time with the right lens. It was the same with a picture I took of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr – I pressed the button just as Frank is goosing Dean in the ass. But you never know if you’ve shot an iconic photo at the time. You need the benefit of hindsight – because it’s not about what you think is iconic, it’s about what the world thinks.
