..... uncork a bottle of wine or open a good background sound Beer and Carols always elegant and charismatic Dean Martin.

Hey pallies, likes as we often does, when we find Dino-devotion at a new-to-ilovedinomartin blog, we simply musta dos a little searchin' 'round the pad to see if more adulation of our most beloved Dino has been shared.  So after postin' yesterday's Dino-gram from spaniard Mr. "Victor Hugo" at his blog "DU- DUM - DUM" accentin' Hugo's great Dino-giftin' selection  of that box set of 8 Classic Dino-al-b-ums," we did a bit of searchin' there and voila, we have 'nother Dino-seasonal selection for all youse Dino-holics to enjoys.

On this seventeenth day of Dino-winter-month we present to you Victor's combination of holiday feastin' and Dino-croonin' tagged "Musical Recipe: Gnocchi with beetroot sauce and cheese 6 Dean Martin."  We don't often enter into to world as Hugo tags it, of "gastro-sonic adventure" beyond our Dino's ver-si-on of the bourbon burger, but we just couldn't resist this recipe for "beet gnocchi" mixed with the wintery seasonal magic of our Dino croonin' "Marshmallow World" with a couple of the Golddiggers from the December 19, 1968 edition of the Dino-show.

Likes if any of you pallies tries this rich recipe, let's us know how it turns out...and be sure to listen to a ton of Dino-season's selections while doin' the kitchen artistry!  We sez our thank you very much once 'gain to Mr. "Victor Hugo" for 'nother great Dino-honorin' post and helpin' his readership grow deeper in knowin', lovin', and diggin' our main man.  To checks this out in it's original format, simply clicks on the tag of this here Dino-gram.   Dino-diggin', DMP

Musical Recipe: Gnocchi with beetroot sauce and cheese 6 Dean Martin:

At this time it is opening my appetite bad thing but we can not taste anything because we are to plan it and pecking leads to nothing good. Therefore, coinciding with these dates so endearing Christmas and such, we will start a new gastro-sonic adventure to help us do a little more bearable stomach growls until you reach the blessed lunch ... Come beyond a colorful, entertaining (the kind that says Gourmet Desserts that come in handy for children to go deep into the world of cooking) and rich recipe called beet gnocchi with cheese sauce 6!

As the night that we did not give us by taking a photo of the dish, I put here
one belonging to the web Gastronomy and Co. from which I borrowed the recipe.

Ingredients (serves 4-6 people):

400g of cooked beetroot.
200g potato flakes (or natural potato puree if you want to go superguay).
100g flour (although you may need more).
1 teaspoon salt.
1 pinch of nutmeg.
1 pinch black pepper.
1 egg.
1 brick of cream for cooking.
1 package of shredded cheese of any kind.

Elaboration:
We wash hands thoroughly because we are not a guarretes, ruthlessly chop and grind in a blender beets and took them to a bowl knead. We pour the shake and incorporate the potato flakes or puree. Salt and pepper and add the nutmeg. We mix very very very good (and I mean to be mixed very very well mean that you have to mix very very very good) until potato flakes have been rehydrated enough to lose its characteristic white color and become one with beet. Let stand 10 minutes to ensure rehydration and then add the beaten egg and flour sifted inches to avoid creating gobs. We return to mix very very well (I do not think it necessary to have to repeat the reason) to create a united and malleable mass, which is easily broken, but that does not stick to hands. The exact point will be when pressing the dough with the tip of a finger slightly, this return to his being away. If you see that mass is inconsistent, it should be corrected and keep adding more potato until it acquires body. Then it's time to sprinkle flour on the counter and when you release your mother this "for you know who's going to clean up after!". With the dough on the counter, we must knead and roll it to make cylinders or churrillos a thickness of approximately 1'5cm. We cut into portions of about 2cm and we shape pressing them with a fork.

These gnocchi can be stored a couple of days dusted with flour and tightly covered in the refrigerator, but it is advisable to boil a pot of water, a pinch of salt and bay leaf. When the water starts to boil gnocchi pieces that fall to the bottom of the pan are added. In a couple of minutes, no more, they will have made gnocchi and go up. We are going retreating, straining and putting on the plate, which serve with the corresponding sauce. In our case, we chose the 6 cheese sauce. Why? Because the 4 cheese seems to us that is trite, because we are really cool and because we had more cheese remains at home. Point. To prepare, put to cook over low heat one brick of cream to cook, season and add an assortment of cheese: soft, cured, smoked mozzarella, Parmesan and blue, we have to remove patiently to be achieved and melt all each ellos.Tras this arduous task, we no longer have more than throw it over the gnocchi and explore great while uncork a bottle of wine or open a good background sound Beer and Carols always elegant and charismatic Dean Martin.

All I Want Is Dino: DEAN MARTIN EIGHT CLASSIC ALBUMS

Hey pallies, likes we thinks that today's Dino-gram is a first here at ilovedinomartin.  On this sixteenth day of Dino-winter-month we offer all youse Dino-philes 'nother great Dino-giftin' idear...with a twist dudes.  Likes, for years, we have been offerin' what we consider swank special suggestions for all those Dino-holics on your seasonal shoppin' list, but this is the first time in memory that we are offerin' a suggestion from a pallie from 'nother part of the Dino-globe!

Likes today we takes you to the tuneful blog "DU - DUM- DUM"  where Spanish blogger "Victor Hugo" holds forth.  "Hugo" hails from Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain and his post "Una de esas joyitas: Dean Martin"  (English translation: One of these gems: Dean Martin.) offers one of the bestest of best Dino-deals 'round.

"Victor" Dino-"gem" is none other then the 4 CD collection of Dino-croons tagged "DEAN MARTIN EIGHT CLASSIC ALBUMS.  Likes you can read our original Dino-prose on this coolest of cool collection  HERE when it was first released a couple of years 'go.   'though that know that "Hugo's primo prose is less powerful in translation then the original Spanish, none the less we digs his Dino-take on this massive massive collection of Dino-croons.  He speaks of our most beloved Dino's "class, style, and elegance" and recommends "decorate this Christmas with music high tuft," of course speakin' of none other then our main man.

As we have spoken of before, this collection of 8----count -em----eight original al-b-ums is truly a bargain of bargain, usually found 'round these parts for less then what one might pay for a single al-b-um.  And, "Hugo" does a commendable job of offerin; both" pros" and "cons" for this stellar set of recordin's.

We are deeply delighted to be able to offer Mr. "Victor Hugo's" sweet sweet suggestion" for a Dino-gift that won't break the bank, but give hours and hours of Dino-listenin' Dino-pleasure.  We thanks "Hugo" for offerin' his readership this bestest of best Dino-giftin' idear.  To checks this out in it's original source, simply clicks on the tag of this here Dino-message.  Dino-sharin', DMP

One of these gems: Dean Martin.

If you want to give your ears gustirrinín; learn a little that is left over that I go to class, style and elegance; get without leaving your home the intensive course 'Crooner: How to stop being a nerd' and decorate this Christmas with music high tuft, here's your chance: Dean Martin - Eight Classic Albums' is a case of the record company Real Gone Music which includes remastered and enhanced in the next eight classic Dean Martin published LPs for Capitol and Reprise between 57 and 62:

-'Pretty Baby '.
-'Sleep Warm '.
-'A Winter Romance '.
Time -'This I'm Swingin' '.
-'Dino: Italian Love Songs'.
-'French Style '.
-'Cha Cha Cha De Amor '.
-'Dino Latino '.

Pros of this issue: You pull a series of disks that are very difficult to purchase separately, the remastering and other technical aspects of the album are outstanding (energetic, deep and rich sound nuances) and affordable price (less than 15 euros depending on where you go to look for).

Cons: No features its two previous works 'Dean Martin Sings' (53) and 'Down Yonder Swingin'' (55) and with s English and EP's and also suffers from a booklet of credits to explain the details the intricacies of these discs and piece of this great artist.

My verdict: If you have curiosity for the work of Dean Martin I recommend one of the many collections that are on it because you will enjoy one montonazo but if you want to really dig deeper and find the gems that was leaving this teacher US entertainment over three decades I sincerely believe that you're taking to make these gems.

-'Pretty Baby'.
-'Sleep Warm'.
-'A Winter Romance'.
-'This Time I´m Swingin´'.
-'Dino: Italian Love Songs'.
-'French Style'.
-'Cha Cha Cha De Amor'.
-'Dino Latino'.

But it sounds a lot better when Dean Martin sings it.

Hey pallies, likes on this fourteenth  day of Dino-winter-month we may needs to stretch to gets today's Dino-devotion to fits the wintery Dino-theme, but likes we simply can'T  lets ourselves let this incredibly intriguin' Dino-themed message be postponed to after the first of the year.

From the blog  "Mean Green Math - Explaining the "whys" of mathematics" by blogger Mr. John Quintanilla" comes from within  memory, the first Dino-mathematical proposition "Predicate Logic and Popular Culture (Part 6): Dean Martin."   Well, the word "Green" is part of Mr. Quintanilla's blog tag and likes red and green are the traditional colors accentin' this wintery season...so, let's just use that are our official reason for sharin' this post this Dino-day!

Mr. Quintanilla's bio tells us that he is "Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of North Texas, located in Denton, Texas."  And he 'plains how Mean Green is appro for a blog 'bout math..."Indeed, the title of this blog acknowledges one of the symbols of UNT, the Mean Green."

Likes as we sez, we can't ever remember havin' a mathematical Dino-post before, and we find it so so refreshin' that even the scholarly subject of math has come under the insightful influence of our most beloved Dino.  We thinks all youse Dino-holics will greatly groove on Quintanilla's logic in mixin' math with the quintessential Dino-croon "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime"...we knows we surely do!

Likes we bets that many of us pallies woulda certainly dug our math mucho more if our one and only Dino had been added into the equation, and we are particularly pleasured to say our thoughtful thanks to Mr. John Quintanilla for this newest and coolest way of sharin' our awesomely amazin' Dino in an edifyin' educational setting.  To checks this out in it's original format, simply clicks on the tag of this here Dino-report.   Dino-multiplied, DMP

Predicate Logic and Popular Culture (Part 6): Dean Martin

This semester, I taught discrete mathematics for the first time. Part of the discrete mathematics course includes an introduction to predicate and propositional logic for our math majors. As you can probably guess from their names, students tend to think these concepts are dry and uninteresting even though they’re very important for their development as math majors.

In an effort to making these topics more appealing, I spent a few days mining the depths of popular culture in a (likely futile) attempt to make these ideas more interesting to my students. In this series, I’d like to share what I found. Naturally, the sources that I found have varying levels of complexity, which is appropriate for students who are first learning prepositional and predicate logic.

When I actually presented these in class, I either presented the logical statement and had my class guess the statement in actual English, or I gave my students the famous quote and them translate it into predicate logic. However, for the purposes of this series, I’ll just present the statement in predicate logic first.

Let L(x,y,t) be the proposition “x loves y at time t.” Translate the logical statement

\forall x \exists y \exists t L(x,y,t),

where the domain for x and y is all people and the domain for t is all times.

The clunky way of translating this into English is, “For every person, there exists a person and a time so that the first person loves the second person at that time.” But it sounds a lot better when Dean Martin sings it.

And the sun is red like a pumpkin head

Take a walk with your favorite girl
It's a sugar date, what if spring is late
In winter it's a marshmallow world.

So lonely and then
You came out of nowhere
Like the sun up from the hill

Cold cold as the wind
Warm warm were your lips
Out there on the ski trail
Where your kiss filled me with thrill

Weekend in Canada a change of scenery
Was the most I bargained for
And then I discovered you and in your eyes
I've found a love that I couldn't ignore

Down down came the sun
Fast fast beat my heart
I knew as the sun set from that day
We'd never part

Down down down down came the sun
Fast fast fast fast beat my heart
I knew as the sun set from that day
We'd never part
Down down down down came-a the sun
Fast fast fast fast beat-a my heart
I knew as the sun set from that day
We'd never part
We'd never part
We'd never part

By Robert J Wright December 24, 2014 4:47 PM

On This Day In Dino-history: November 30, 1956

Hey pallies, the ol' world wide web continues to be a genuine goldmine completely chocked full of great Dino-treasure just waitin' to be marvelously mined....and that's a huge huge reason we here at ilovedinomartin keeps doin' our best to uncover more and more Dino-devotion for all youse Dino-philes.    Last year at this time, while doin' some extra credit Dino-searchin' via google blog search we happened upon the rarest of rare Dino-find of some laviously  live croonin' of our most beloved Dino and his bestest of best pallie Mr. Frank Sinatra on November 30, 1956.

First posted on the blog "Crooks And Liars" on December 31, 2009, it took us almost five years to uncover this fantastic find of this  recordin' of our most beloved Dino singin' a trio of classic croons for the Hungarian Relief Concert with Sinatra also doin' some solo work.  All-in-all there is almost 22 minutes of sensational singin'.   Likes, 'cause this is a remarkably rare Dino-discovery  we are plannin' to share this on an annual basis, with this year bein' year duo.

We loves how this remarkable recordin' begins with the unnamed announcer givin' our great great man the greatest of praise, sayin' "This fella is going to be on the, I think, one of the finest leading men we've ever seen around this town, and he is going to come out here now, and lead you all to a lot of happiness.   And, likes indeed our Dino lovin'ly  lays likes just  a ton of huge huge happiness on the crowd as he sings "All Of Me," "Innamorata," and "Is It True What They Say About Dixie."

Our Dino mentions that it was producer Mr. Joe Pasternak who coaxed his appearance, which let's us know that the concert was around the time that our Dino's first major big screen effort, "Ten Thousand Bedrooms" was bein' released as Pasternak was the producer for that effort.

We are likes totally totally thrilled to be able to share this with all youse Dino-holics, just wishes that it hadn't taken so so long to uncover.  Also, as you will read  below the sharer of this Dino-treasure, Mr. Gordon Skene discovered "the master tapes from the concert)  sitting on a shelf in a garage the better part of forty years before I got the call to "take the junk away".

We wanna express our deepest of deep Dino-appreciato to Skene for sharin' this huge huge Dino-discovery with his readership and eventually with all youse pallies.  Likes makes us be in wonderment of  what more Dino-gold is out there waitin' to be mined.  To checks this out in it's original format, simply clicks on the tag of this here Dino-report.  Always Awed by our Dino, DMP

Newstalgia New Years Eve Music Special - Dean Martin - Frank Sinatra - Hungarian Relief Concert 1956

I can't think of a better way to end up the year than with a special, rare, never-heard-before performance of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin (not together unfortunately, but Dino's in fine form) from the Hungarian Relief Fundraiser put on in Los Angeles on November 30, 1956.

For some reason, this recording has never been issued anywhere - the master tapes sitting on a shelf in a garage the better part of forty years before I got the call to "take the junk away".
Dean had just broken up his act with Jerry Lewis and Sinatra was going through a career change that took would take a dramatic upturn as well. If memory serves (but don't hold me to it), this predates the Ratpack by about a year.

In any event, this is a rare recording and you get to hear it first.

Thanks to everyone for a great 2009 - especially the crew at C&L. It's all been good fun, dusting off history.

Happy New Year - try and stay sane in the meantime. Wait til 2010!
