Yeh, yeh, I knows pallies that likes that same Dino-clip has been shared twice in the last few Dino-days, but when the likes of Esquire mag has the outstandin' taste of it's premier fashion director liftin' up our beloved Dino in this amazin' way, likes I just haves to let the whole wide world Dino-community knows this awesome news.

Hey pallies, likes our Dino directed me to this way cool winter music pad appropriately tagged "Hip Christmas." And, likes of course our Dino is well represented here. Almost all of the various incarnations of Dino-winter-tunes are spoken of here...with the superior nod, as would be expected, given to Dino's first and greatest winter effort, "A Winter Romance."
Likes the only Dino-winter-al-b-um not spoken of is the 2009 release "My Kind Of Christmas"....which is mostly a repackagin' of our Dino's previous wintertime efforts...but likes of course every true Dino-holic needs as much Dino as possible, so likes of course "My Kind Of Christmas" is among my Dino-winter-treasure.
I loves how the dude Mr. Randall Anthony wrote this Dino-prose that sets the tone when they sez......

On Making Spirits Bright (1998) (or the subsequent upgrade, Christmas With Dino), Martin sounds like he's having fun - more full of horny vigor (or spiked punch) than pious reflection on the season - capturing the same sexy, silly, lubricious vibe that made him such a loveable cad onscreen.
Making Spirits Bright compiles seasonal recordings from 1953 to 1966, including some rare singles and selections from two Christmas albums for two different labels: A Winter Romance (Capitol, 1959) and The Dean Martin Christmas Album (Reprise, 1966). A Winter Romance (repackaged in 1965 as Holiday Cheer) is far the better of the two, a typically suave, sexy Martin LP - though it's as much a concept album about winter as a traditional Christmas album. Rather than blathering on about Santa and Frosty, most of the songs revolve, literally, around romance in winter - c.f. "Baby It's Cold Outside" and "I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm." Rudolph, however, eventually pokes his red nose in....
A Winter Romance has been reissued on CD twice (more counting imported versions). The first version - a 1994 reissue by Capitol - contains one bonus track, Martin's smokey chestnut "The Christmas Blues" (1953). The second version - part of a restoration of Martin's catalog by Collector's Choice - is superior in most ways, including the comparatively hefty four bonus tracks. But, none of those tracks are Christmas songs - meaning, obviously, that none of them are "The Christmas Blues." Too bad.
The Dean Martin Christmas Album was recorded after Dino switched to Reprise, a label founded by his Rat Pack peers. But, by the mid-60's Martin was moving rapidly towards the middle of the road like most old school vocalists. So, unlike A Winter Romance, Christmas Album is a traditional holiday offering - that is, it's a deadly dull affair with little to recommend it beyond Dino's customary croon. Though never reissued verbatim on CD, most of the contents are found on Making Spirits Bright.
Which is to say, A Winter Romance is the jewel here - in no small part because it contains Martin's most celebrated holiday song, his ribald rendition of "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" Pay close attention: nowhere in the lyrics of that celebrated Christmas standard is Christmas ever mentioned. Hence, it was a natural for inclusion on A Winter Romance. Without breaking a sweat, Dino lays down the definitive version of "Let It Snow," knowingly leering his way through lines like "I've brought me some corn for popping." Ahem...
Happily, "Let It Snow" is included twice on Making Spirits Bright - in both the irresistible, original 1959 version and a rare, rockin' 1966 reprise. I decided to paint Dean Martin because he was one of the most talented personalities in show business history. He was a singer, comedian, movie star, and TV personality.
Martin first gained stardom when he teamed up with Jerry Lewis in the 1940s. His solo career produced a long list of hit songs including “That’s Amore”, “Everybody Loves Somebody”, and “Volare”. He also had an extensive movie career, starring in more than 50 films. Dino’s career grew even more when he teamed up with Frank Sinatra to form the legendary Rat Pack. By the mid ‘60s Martin was a top movie, recording and nightclub attraction. Martin later moved to television with “The Dean Martin Show” and his celebrity roasts, which I loved.
Dean Martin died on Christmas morning 1995. He was 78.

Hey pallies, likes today I gotta begins by 'fessin' up...but likes faithful readers of this here ilovedinomartin probably knows likes what I am gonna sez. Although our beloved Dino was pallies with Frank Sinatra, I just ain't gots much respect for the man...always seems to me that the Frankie is always over-rated while our Dino always under-rated. Anyhow, my natural Dino-inclination is to spend little if anytime spreadin' frankie 'round this blog.
Anyway, my Dino-bro Danny G. reminded me that yester-Dino-day, December 12th was the 95th anniversary of Mr. Sinatra's birth and likes I might wanna makes some sort of Dino-mention 'bout it. Wells, I cames across this Dino-winter-patter at the pad "Baby Boomer Remembers," that woulda seems to fill the bill.
So, likes one day late, here is a clip of our Dino and Frankie havin' some Dino-winter-fun signin' our Dino's signature winter tune "Marshmallow World." But, likes am so glad that Miss Baby Boomer had likes such respect for our Dino that she also posted the bestest of the bestest versions of our Dino singin' 'bout marshmallows likes that was just posted yesterday as our Levi's Sunday Serenade with Dino. And, likes I will takes every Dino-opportunity to post the coolest of the cool, hippest of the hip, and randiest of the randy Dino-classic!

Likes can all you pallies believe that we are likes just a couple of weeks away from Dino-winter-day....that bittersweet day when we pays homage to our Dino on his departure from our midst? Speakin' of payin' homage to our Dino..... today's special Dino-winter-time edition of Sunday Serenade with Dino features what likes I consider to be the mostly royally regal Dino-clip of our royally regal King of Cool singin' his coolest of the cool winter tunes "Marshmallow World."
Likes when I watch this clip from a 70's Bob Hope Winter TV Special, I can't help but image our beloved Dino reignin' high on his royal throne...that crushed green velvet chair......omni-present cigarette in hand...likes a royal scepter...pontificatin' on the virtues of a yum-yummy "Marshmallow World."
Well, 'nough of my Dino-reflections pallies, 'cause today our swingin' Deanager Levi from down under plays homage to our Dino with his ever insightful Dino-thoughts on likes how much he so so digs our Dino's singin' of "Marshmallow World."
Levi is truly one youthful mod who is likes totally sold out to our Dino. Our great man means everythin' to Deanager Levi and likes his Dino-patter is just so chocked full of Dino-passion.

I really enjoy Dean Martin's Christmas songs, he does them better than anyone else.
I really dig Marshmallow World and I know some good friends who also dig this song.
Its a Dino song which can be played anytime of the year and I know a girl who plays this song all during the year and I dedicate my sunday serenade to my pal Kylie who isnt feeling very well right now.
I seen a few videos of Dino singing this song but this video is the best of the best.
The first thing we see is the snowman through the window and then the christmas tree, the room looks so nice and big and full of christmas spirit.
Dean goes over to a nice comfy chair in front of an open fire place and he starts singing Marshmallow World and I thinks every one who sees this video feels like they are there with Dino in the room.
I like the open fireplace because I got one at my new pad and I never had one before.
I wish it was winter here so I could sit by an open fire listening to my Dino songs.
And this song would be right at the top of my list.
A really cool song to sit and enjoy hearing.

Hey pallies, here's a very cool item of Dino-treasure that likes I woulda loves to get for Dino-winter-day. From the New Zealand auction pad "trade me" comes a genuine Capitol Records vintage Dino-disc of our great man singin' his hit "Memories Are Made Of This" as well as "Change of Heart."
The auction continues until Saturday night. With a pretty high startin' bid of $50 no one has yet to takes these pallies up on it. Loves to note that this old time 78 Dino-original is in Zee teritory....showin' that Dino-passion likes has always been likes so so Dino-international.

This Month In Dino-history: December 1969
Hey pallies, likes you just never know what new Dino-detail you are goin' to learn. Never knew that it was in December of 1969 that the public announcement of our Dino cuttin' the strings with the Jeanne was made.
From the on-line presence of the McCook Daily Gazette, McCook Nebraska, from the newsy report "Days Gone By" by Walt Sehnert comes this historical Dino-report from December 1969 that our great man was breakin' his marriage to wife numero duo.
Seems some pallie brought in a December '69 edition of the McCook newspaper to it's office and one of the featured mentions was the break up of our Dino and the Jeanne.
Betcha this news made the front pages of every small town gazette and big city rag all over the Dino-univere once the Dino-news broke.
Likes you ask, why the cool pix of our Dino as Mr. Wonderful-USA with Miss Gail Renshaw Miss World-USA? Wells pallies, it was likes after our Dino met Miss Gail in 'Vegas and agreed to do a bit of publicity with her, that our Dino made his decision to calls it splits-ville with mother Jeanne. In fact our Dino and Miss Gail were such an item that Miss Gail eventually gave up her throne to devote all her attentions to our Dino. For some unknown reasons the amore between our beloved Dino and Miss Gail ended and our Dino went on to marry Miss Cathy Hawn.
I finds it very interestin' that it was durin' Dino-winter-month that our Dino and the Jeanne made their divorce plans known....and I do believe that it actually was on the next Valentine's Day that our great man had the offical divorce papers served on the Jeanne.

People sometimes ask us if we remember a certain time, a certain date, or a certain happening. For those of us who often have difficulty remembering what we had for breakfast it helps when we are handed the newspaper, which reported the incident. Recently a loyal reader brought a copy of the McCook Gazette, December of 1969. Though things continue to change, some things remain the same.
Dean Martin, 52, a $5 million/year TV star, sought a divorce from his second wife, Jeannie, 47, who agreed to comply with his wishes. It seemed that Martin, who portrayed a slightly tipsy, good time party boy on television, was in reality a stay-at-home, early-to-bed teetotaler, while his wife was the one who enjoyed an occasional party. The couple had three children. Martin had four children by a previous marriage.

Sunday Serenade with Dino: "White Christmas"
Hey pallies, due to the uncertainty of bein' on the 'puter tomorrow, likes this week's Sunday Serenade with Dino will again appear a bit early.....
......so pallies, likes welcomes to the first ilovedinomartin special Dino-winter-month edition of the Dino-serenade. Today we puts the accent on our Dino's dreamy version of "White Christmas" from one of our great man's great Christmas specials.
While our Dino lived and played in sunny Cali where this Dino-clip was filmed, he began his journey in Steubenville, Ohio and woulda spent his boyhood days havin' snowball fights and buildnin' snow forts.....havin' himself a white Christmas durin' his growin' up years.
So when our Dino sings, "I'm dreamin' of a white Christmas"....he is probably rememberin' the days of his youth and snowy Ohio winters back in Stu-ville. And our Dino sings this classic winter tune with the convictions of one who knows of what he speaks.
If memory serves me correctly, I remember readin' more then once, that the writer of "White Christmas," Mr. Irving Berlin" was heard to say that it was our Dino's version that was his favorite. And listenin' and watchin' our Dino sings WC one can truly comprehend why Mr. Berlin woulda have expressed those Dino-feelin's.
I loves how our Dino croons this tune in a very slow and oh, so dreamy fashion....nothin' rushed 'bout our Dino's imagin' the snowy winters of his youth....now whether our Dino ever wrote many Christmas cards himself...that's 'nother Dino-story...but he sings it so convincin'ly that you truly believes that he has written tons.
And, we likes all feels so truly Dino-blessed when our Dino sings...
"May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white."
Indeed, likes all our days are made merry and so so bright when we spends our time with our beloved DINO!!!!!

Biography
- Until the age of five years said later - spoke only Italian, but my Italian is not even a dialect of Abruzzi, and I also speak evil. The rest do not even speak good English.
Dino continues to grow. He started school but was not really his forte.
He knew, however, behave and be appreciated. It was nice, she always managed to do everything, and then as her teacher would say:
- He was polite and beautiful. If Jesus was a good kid .... Riccio did not study much and nice, but it was so respectful ...
Dino had other things to think that learning to spell. The first impact was terrible with the word "Apple." Mistakes in writing. Her father called her apple, her teacher "Apple", but sometimes his father called and came out as a "APPLA" that no one knew what it was. But eat it all. Even without knowing how to write. Even the brothers who sold them could write Antonucci. And even the peasants who cultivated the ... And he thought: Can you grow it, sell it to eat it, but it is not necessary that you can write her name.
When the sisters began to speak to the Catechism of Adam and Eve and original sin, which he understood was that damn apple to give away the whole story ... He understood that the spelling in the apple was a sin.God told him to eat whatever they wanted, except that damn apple tree of knowledge. This is the first of all evils: the knowledge! For those stupid enough to eat and not enough?
No, I wanted to know, they wanted to be able to write what they ate and that was the damnation! Damn the application and knowledge!
Already as a boy his vocation was the show. when he was at home she always wore a hat. He went around with his hat on singing and dancing.

Many years later he recalled joking stedso: - I had a boxer's career also ensured. Take $ 10 per contest. I supported 12 matches and won them all ... except the last 11 ...
At 19 he knew his life. Many argue that he had also worked in smuggling during prohibitionism, carrying bottles of alcohol in the hair tonic of Million Dollar Auerbach. And bottles of Million Dollar in truth it was full to the workshop of Gaetano.
But one day he stopped arrangiardsi and began working at the Rex, the most beautiful and largest casino in the area. He became a dealer's good, damn good. Dino Crocetti, son of a barber shop in Abruzzo, born under the gray sky like steel, was destined to become a star of the same sky. He did what he could do no other disks, film, radio and television programs. And he, like few others would have discovered and named the mundane: "The dirty dream factory."

Holiday Picks: Sounds of the Holidays
If your house is like ours, your Christmas Tree is already up, your Menorah is in the window and you've got holiday music playing in between the repeated viewings of such holiday movies as A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Grinch That Stole Christmas.
What are we listening to? I'm glad you asked because I have definite opinions on holiday music and I'm not afraid to make those opinions known - right?
First on my list of must play music comes from a singer whose voice is so imprinted on my childhood memories that at first hearing, I'm immediately transported back to that happy time. My mother loved Christmas music and I remember evenings spent listing to Nat King Cole, Englebert Humperdink, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin croon the Christmas standards.
Being a particular fan of Dean Martin, Christmas with Dino is one of my faves. Featuring holiday cuts from the Capitol Records album A Winter Romance and selections from The Dean Martin Christmas Album on Reprise Records, this album is quintessential Dean.
When you read Mr. Newman's profile you learn that he is a professionally trained singer himself....of opera no less, and likes who is first on his list of "Sounds of the Holiday".....well, of course, our DINO!
I loves readin' Mr. Newman's homage to our Dino sayin' such cool thin's 'bout our King of Cool likes.....

Holiday Picks: Sounds of the Holidays
If your house is like ours, your Christmas Tree is already up, your Menorah is in the window and you've got holiday music playing in between the repeated viewings of such holiday movies as A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Grinch That Stole Christmas.
What are we listening to? I'm glad you asked because I have definite opinions on holiday music and I'm not afraid to make those opinions known - right?
First on my list of must play music comes from a singer whose voice is so imprinted on my childhood memories that at first hearing, I'm immediately transported back to that happy time. My mother loved Christmas music and I remember evenings spent listing to Nat King Cole, Englebert Humperdink, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin croon the Christmas standards.
Being a particular fan of Dean Martin, Christmas with Dino is one of my faves. Featuring holiday cuts from the Capitol Records album A Winter Romance and selections from The Dean Martin Christmas Album on Reprise Records, this album is quintessential Dean.

Dean Martin Biography, Part I, from deanmartin.it
Hey pallies, likes when I was first gettin' into the Dean Martin community on the web, I came 'cross the coolest of the cool Dino-pad with the coolest of the cool Dino-tagg. This amazin' Dino-site was Italiano of origin and was known as the "Dean Martin Portal." Seems likes every time I was able to gets on the 'puter I would head for the Dino-portal 'cause there was such an Dino-abundance of Dino-treasures to be explored there.
And, likes I so so loved the web address....."deanmartin.it." Truly, truly no one is more "it" that our beloved Dino! Well at some point the pallies who ran that Dino-pad lost the right to use that addy...and dudes likes I gotta tells you that I was likes so so bummed when the "Dean Martin Portal" demised. I keeps goin' backs all the times in hopes of it's return...but nodda. After awhile, I returned less and less often givin' up any prospects of it's return.
Well, just the other Dino-day, after months and months of not checkin' back, seems likes our Dino encouraged this dude to checks out deanmartin.it 'gain...and as you will probably guess pallies...the great good news is that it is back up. Likes I don't think it's return is by the original Italiano pallies who shared their Dino-passion in this way...but the Dino-pad is very very cool and it is indeed Italiano in it's Dino-origins!
Today's Dino-gram is the first of a two part Dino-biography from deanmartin.com. It was written originally in Italian, but through the magic of google translation it appears here in English. I loves this Dino-bio hugely 'cause it is written in such a different way....a very cool Dino-italiano way for sure pallies....and I loves the classy way that classic Dino-pixs have been added to the Dino-prose makin' it a very classy Dino-presentation for sure....as classy as our great man his Dino-self.

Dean Martin,
was born in Steubenville, Ohio June 7, 1917. Zodiac sign Gemini!
His real name was Dino Crocetti and his parents were Gaetano and Angela Barra. This is the most reliable biography.
Wikipedia it says an "urban legend" according to which the mother's name was Mary Martin and Dino was from Riccia (Campobasso) and he took the name of art by Martin as the mother's surname was not mentioned Crocetti meaning for Italo small cross-Americans.
Gaetano Crocetti was born in Montesilvano December 5, 1893 son of John, farmer, and Mary Fiery, the world was in the house of his in via Fiumemorto as still shows the population registers of the City of Montesilvano. After 1893, the Promised Land, as well as Argentina and Brazil, was, for Italians, especially the South, the real America, the United States.
Between 1893 and 1896 more immigrants landed in New York from Italy than from any other part of the world. Pultro Di Carlo, Gaetano Crocetti's cousin was the first to go to America and settled in Steubenville. He made enough fortune in a few years to be a little 'hook for all the friends and relatives of Montesilvano and surrounding area, which gradually came to work in the steel mills of Pittsburgh and Steuben, as it was called then the Italians.
Giuseppe Crocetti older brother, ten years older than Gary, was the first to follow his cousin Charles. Sailed from Naples on board the two trees "Madonna" in the spring of 1907 with a ticket paid for by his cousin Charles. Vince his brother followed him in 1910. Luciano and Umberto left for America, too, but did not arrive in Steubenville, chose to remain in New York where he found work just landed.
In 1913 Gary and the thinner the smallest of the brothers worked "a day" as a farmhand. He knew barely read and write and when he received from his brother Joseph and a $ 25 ticket, the dream became a reality in the Americas. Each December, we pause to shows mucho love and respect to our Dino as we approach whats we likes tagg "Dino-winter-day"....December 25th....the day of Dino-departure, when our great man departed the earth.All us Dino-devotees have likes such mixed Dino-feelin's as Dino-winter-day approacheth...such saddness to no longer have our King of Cool walkin' the earth, but such peace knowin' that our Dino was ready to finish his earthly journey leavin' behind an unparalleled legacy of cool for pallies forever to follow the Dino-way.
Durin' our journey to Dino-winter-day we plans to have many and varied ways to honor the life, times and teachin's of our Dino. Look for very special editions of Sunday Serenades with Dino where we hopes to have a variety of Dino-devotees sharin' their Dino-reflections on some of our great man's great Dino-winter-tunes.

Sunday Serenade with Dino: "You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby"
Hey pallies, welcome to Sunday Serenade with Dino. Today's Dino-selection is that old standard "You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby." Although from the lyrics we knows that our Dino was singin' 'bout some knock-out chick...so so much of this song woulda applies to our Dino...
Likes can't you just see our Master Dino goin' to kindergarten and drivin' all the 5 year old chicks absolutely wild! Likes can't you just see our great man winnin' blue ribbons and acceptin' in the coolest of cool Dino-style.
Tons of musical artists have sung this popular tune, but can't image anyone who did it with the class and polish of our Dino...as usual he sings each and every syllable with that imitable Dino-stylin'!
And, likes when I compared the standard lyrics for this tune with the words our Dino sings...he makes ever so cool nuances here and there to sings this, as always,in his own gloriously beau-ti-fully Dino-way!
