..... and, of course, Dean Martin in a Russian prison.

Hey pallies, likes many many of today's finest flicks continue to most wondrously 'n wisely use Dino-croons to set the tone of the big screen action.  Case in point, our pallies at google 'lerts recently sent us to a blog tagged "The Man of Words," where U.K. freelance writer and journalist Mr. Alasdiar Stuart hangs his hat.  Mr. Stuart has a regular stunnin' Sunday feature, "Sunday Moment of Zen" which most appropriately accented our Dino, as our  Dino has been tagged "Zen Master" on more then one occasion here at ilovedinomartin. Well, Alasdiar post, "Sunday Moment of Zen: Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol and the Dean Martin Prison Break" obviously gots our Dino-attention!  Now as we continue to scribe here you will discover that we ain't big ofn seein' most modern flicks as we hardly gets time to view our collection of our Dino's big screen efforts.  Anywho we learned from Stuart's scribin's that the classic of classic Dino-croon, "Ain't That A Kick In The Head" is featured in the openin' minutes of the 2011 Tom Cruise hit, "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol."

Indeed at 2:37 in the vid clip below the strains of "Kick" are streamed into a Russian prison signalin' the beginnin' of the break....and thus "the Dean Martin Prison Break!"  Now likes how amazin'ly awesome is that dudes?!?!?!?!  Likes how many fans of the Mission Impossible flicks gots turned on to our King of Cool through the placement of this amazin' Dino-tune in this successful big screen effort?!?!?!?!?!

Sunday Moment of Zen: Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol and the Dean Martin Prison Break

Just a short one this week. I am inordinately fond of the Mission: Impossible movies, especially 3. I’m delighted to see Rogue Nation, the new one, seems to be maintaining the increasingly mischievous bent of the series too. This sequence, from the opening of Ghost Protocol, is probably the best example of that. Silent comedy, close quarters punching, Simon Pegg being magnificent and, of course, Dean Martin in a Russian prison. Oh and a beautiful, offhand justification for the fuse motif. Glorious stuff and your Sunday Moment of Zen.
