Listen: Scarlett Johansson Teams With A Dead Dean Martin For "I'll Be Home For Christmas"

Hey pallies, likes I mentioned yester-Dino-day the news that hottie Miss Scarlett Johansson has recorded a virtual duet of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" with our most beloved Dino has simply been spreadin' likes wildfire all over the net. The 2011 edition of our Dino's "My Kind Of Christmas," is continuin' to generate tons of Dino-posts, and today, on the third day of our Dino-pilgrimage toward Dino-winter-day, I have chosen to share 'nother of the best Dino-reflections on this al-b-um.

Today ilovedinomartin has selected the thoughts of Mr. Kevin Jagernauth from the pad "Indiewire" to share with all youse Dino-philes. Chose this Dino-report 'cause I likes totally totally digs the Dino-graphics of a coolly classic Dino-pose mixed with a hot hot pix of Miss Johansson. Secondly, I so so appreciates Mr. Jagernauth's honest perspective on the "duet." Kev sez, "Well, it's not a crime against music or anything, it's perfectly (and forgettably) pleasant but also kind of totally pointless."

Kev sounds likes many of us deeply devoted Dino-holics....we mostly prefer our Dino straight up....not electronicly messed with. Now, likes don't get me wrong, I am the proud owner of this new Dino-disc and will be playin' it tons durin' our Dino-winter-day pilgrmage, but likes why mess with perfection? And likes we all knows our Dino is perfect in every way...all by himself!

You will also note that Jagernauth has included the same youtube Dino-trib-vid, first shared yesterday, of this "new" Dino-duet for your listenin' pleasure.

ilovedinomartin shares our Dino-winter-time appreciato to Mr. Kevin Jagernauth and the pallies at "Indiewire" for this bit of Dino-prose of the 2011 edition of our Dino's "My Kind Of Christmas." To view this in it's original format, likes just clicks on the tag of this Dino-message. Journeyin' with you to Dino-winter-day, DMP

Listen: Scarlett Johansson Teams With A Dead Dean Martin For "I'll Be Home For Christmas"

by Kevin Jagernauth

Triple threat Scarlett Johansson has a Christmas present for you. The actress, soon to be feature filmmaker and singer has now joined the ranks of Bono and Natalie Cole in teaming up with dead legends to give an old classic a new spin.

During his career, Dean Martin only recorded two albums worth of holiday songs, but they seem get recycled every so often and the latest disc I'll Be Home Christmas has found some folks unwisely giving his legendary songs a contemporary twist. Why on earth "Winter Wonderland" needs to be given a "Swingin' Yuletide Mix" is beyond us, but it seems someone over at Hip-O Select has also decided, what the hell, let's get Scarlett Johansson to duet with Dino on "I'll Be Home For Christmas." And the result? Well, it's not a crime against music or anything, it's perfectly (and forgettably) pleasant but also kind of totally pointless. But hey, if you ever wondered what these two would sound like singing "together" now you know.

Anyway, the whole album is in stores now. Listen to the collaboration below. [via Boom Bap Beatnik]

  2. The digital age's remixes are amazing and wonderful, but I prefer my Dino "straight up." A timeless classic like our Dino cannot be improved by adding anything!

  5. I`m in total agreement with Levi on this one.
I much prefer the original version.
But these duets are helping to keep Deans name alive and allowing a new generation of fans to hear Dean.
As long as the duets are good, why not.
There have been a couple bad ones over the years though.
I have recently noticed they are doing the same thing with Elvis Presley.
