On This Day In Dino-history: March 29, 1973

Hey pallies, today is 'nother very important Dino-date to remember. It was on this date, March 29 in 1973 that our Dino's divorce from his second wife, Jeanne Biegger, was finalized.

Dino has originally sought the divorce from Jeanne after he met, while playin' in 'Vegas, 21 year old Miss Gail Renshaw. Our most beloved Dino was totally totally smitten by Renshaw, then serving as Miss USA. That amore cooled after a time, and at the point that our Dino's divorce was finalized he was engaged to Miss Catherine Mae Hawn, a 24 year old beauty parlor receptionist...who would then become Mrs Dean Martin less then a month after our Dino's divorce was finished.

Represented here are pixs of our Dino with all three of his amores, Miss Jeanne, Miss Gail, and Miss Catherine Mae. Keeps learnin' those Dino-facts pallies, and likes above all else...Keeps lovin' our Dino! Dino-learnin', DMP

  1. Not knowing what goes on behind closed doors, I can only assume that Dino had one hell of a mid-life crisis at this particular point in time.

  2. Hey pallie, likes Mr. Matty that is one way that many pallies have framed this period in Dino-history.
I am of the school that when Dino finally decided to break the knot with his second wife Jeanne he simply permitted his private persona to become more congruent with his professional persona...the reason that I chose the particular pixs of our most beloved Dino with Miss Gail and Miss Cathy is 'cause they show our Dino lovin' swingin' with each of these younger amores. Mid-life crisis perhaps, or maybe just maybe bringin' congruency between his public and private lives. Woulda loves to hear what you think of this Dino-notion Mr. Matty! Keeps lovin' our Dino!

  3. Sadly, it seems that our Dino wasn't happy with Cathy Hawn. That marriage was the shortest lived of our Dino's three marriages.

  5. I don't know about the intentional merging of the private and public persona. Dino divorced Jeannie in 1973 and married a much younger Catherine Hawn the same year. That didn't leave much time to live the SINGLE,swinging, hard living, lady loving playboy lifestyle of his public persona. Not to mention that Cathy Hawn watched him like a hawk. No, I think Dino was trying to recapture the excitement of lost youth. That's why I go with the mid-life crisis angle. He wasn't the first and he sure as hell hasn't been the last.
