On This Date In Dinohistory: May 15, 1927

Hey pallies, on this date in Dinohistory, May 15, 1927 our Dino celebrated his first Holy Communion at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Steubenville. Pictured are our Dino and his bropallie Bill as youngsters and the church where our Dino was baptized, received first Holy Communion, and was confirmed. As mentioned in an earlier Dinopost, sadly St. Anthony's Church was closed last year. Does loves to learn all these very important dates in our Dino's life. Dinoreportin', DMP

  1. St. Anthony's has been closed?

    What a shame!

The last time I was in Steubenville, I took a few pictures of that little church.

I did notice at the time that the neighborhood had several boarded-up buildings.

I wonder....Did they renovate or just let the neighborhood die? Steubenville has been in quite an economic depression with the steel mill not running 24/7 anymore.

  2. Hey pallie AOW, great to hear from you....you woulda think that they woulda kept the church open 'cause of the Dinoconnections, but with the shortage of priests in the Roman Catholic Church many churches have been closed and consolidated.
