On This Day In Dino-history: March 21, 1987

Hey pallies, likes  it was 31  very sad years 'go on this day,  21 March 1987, our Dino's  most beloved boypallie, Captain Dino Jr., while pilotin' a Guard F-4 Phantom fighter jet for the California Air National Guard, crashed the plane in California's San Bernardino Mountains durin' a snowstorm. Dino Jr. and his Weapons System Officer, Mr.  Ramon Ortiz, were both killed in the crash.  Truly it is the saddest and most somber day in the life of our most beloved Dino.

Likes his incredible Daddy-o, Dino Jr. was a remarkable renaissance man of extraordinary talents.....singer, actor, tennis pro, pilot. Dino Jr. was destined to become heir apparent to the throne of our King of Cool, but likes that was so so tragically cut short by the crash of the jet on that darkest of dark days in the life of our Dino.

The demise of Dino Jr. began the demise of our Dino himself. Our great man simply lost the will to live without his prodigy by his side. Truth be told, probably the only man that our Dino looked up to was his beloved namesake Dino Jr.

Below is a picture of Dino Jr.'s gravesite and a bit of information on Dino Jr. and the location of the grave. We thanks the pad Seeing Stars for this picture and information. To checks this out in it's original format, as usual, just click on the tag of these Dino-reflections. Also included below is a brief footage  of the memorial service for Dino Jr.

We remain,

Yours In Dino,

Dino Martin Peters

March 21, 1964 -- a glorious day for our Dino (see the blog post above this one).

March 21, 1987 -- the saddest of all days for our Dino, and the beginning of the end for him. His heart is buried with his son's (figuratively speaking, of course).

In both cases, very important dates in our Dino's lfe.

Dino's Jr. grave is right across the street from our Dino's, the latter in Westwood Memorial Park.

Hey pallie, likes Miss AOW, we had forgotten how close our Dino and his beloved boypallie Dino Jr.s burial sites were, so that while makin' pilgrimage to when our Dino rests, we can also pay our respects to Dino Jr. as well. Keeps lovin' our awesomely amazin' DINO!

FYI...

Jeanne Martin and our Dino's parents are also buried at Westwood Memorial Park. Our Dino's brother is buried in a different cemetery.

I discovered this information at Find A Grave.

Hey pallie, likes Miss AOW, thanks for that added Dino-research. Makin' the pilgrimage to visit Dino's grave means a number of other opportunities to pay respects to others who lived with and loved our Dino! Any idea where Ricci Martin has been laid to rest? Keeps lovin' our one, our only DINO!

DMP,
According to Find A Grave, the burial place of Ricci Martin is unknown at this time. He may have been cremated, but that's a guess on my part.
