"...but in front of his colossal presence I lost my words"

Hey pallies, likes I have often wondered why my response woulda be if I ever was given the opportunity to be in the immediate presence of our most beloved Dino..likes how woulda I act, what woulda I say to our great man?

A couple of days ago a comment came in to the November 10, 2009 post "Children of Paradise: Gail Martin" by a Mr. Sotos Kappas. In his thoughts addressed to Gail he recalls that amazin' day in 1964 when he came face to face with our Dino and how he responded to bein' in the presence of our King of Cool.

I loved readin' Mr. Kappas response so much that besides postin' it to the original prose, I also asked his permission to share it as today's Dino-feature. Graciously Sotos granted me permission to do so sayin, "Yes, you can post my message. It will be my pleasure." And our new pallie Sotos send me a pix of himself taken 'bout the time of his Dino-encounter. As Kappas 'plains..."Enclosing a photo of myself at the Vogue Theatre projection room in 1964 during the run of the movie 'Tom Jones' with Albert Finney."

Well, it is indeed ilovedinomartin's pleasure to share with all you pallies Mr. Kappas personal Dino-encounter. We thanks Mr. Kappas ever so much for relatin' this piece of Dino-history with us. And, pallies Sotos is an outstanding musical artist in his own right, travelin' soon to Hawaii to share is music. Likes if you clicks on the tag of this Dino-message you will go to his blog and can learn all 'bout this very gifted musician. Dino-delightedly, DMP

Hi Gail,
I recall in 1964 when you with your little sister Gina, came at the "Vogue Theatre" to pick up a print of the movie "Kiss Me Stupid" Shortly, I brought on Mountain Drive a print of my own documentay about Athens, Greece. Meeting your Father at the lobby I was anxious to tell him of the enormous success "Memories are made of this" had in Athens, but in front of his colossal presence I lost my words, and it made me stutter, so your Papa helped me out by saying "Oh, you must be the truck driver" I said as fast as I could "Yes Sir" and I disappeared. And yes "Kiss me Stupid" has become a Classic nowadays since then. From the Vogue Theatre I was transfered at the Hollywood Theatre as a night mgr., where we played the movie "The Sons of Katie Elder" Those were the days.
Best regards,
sotos
